## What are the different paper formats?

The standard paper formats in most of the world come from the formats defined in 1922 in the DIN 476 standard. The sheet of manufactured paper measures one meter square and the measure of its sides keep a proportion that when divided in half, each of the halves keep the same relationship between their sides as the original sheet. ## DIN A0 AND DIN A1

A0 1,189 × 841 mm. 1 m2 (0.999 m2) = One square meter. It is often used for technical drawings, plans or posters. A1 841 × 594 mm. 0.5 m2 (0.499 m2) = Half a square meter. It is often used for drawings of all kinds (including technical), plans, posters, diagrams or the like.
